General Configuration Settings
From ACCORD5 Docs
To adjust your general configuration settings, head over to the "Management" section of the ACP. In the grey sidebar menu, under System Settings, click on General Configuration.
You will be greeted with the General Configuration settings screen. Let's see if we can make some sense of it:
Help Desk Name
The name of your helpdesk, visible to customers and staff.
Enable Shutdown Queries
If set to 'Yes', several queries will run after a helpdesk page finishes outputting data. (This isn't anything super important... nothing to worry about, really.)
Enable GZIP Compression
If your host supports GZIP compression, you should enable this. HTML output to the browser will be compressed, cutting down those pesky load times -- nice, no?
Recent Articles to Show
This is the number of recent KB articles that will appear on your helpdesk portal.
Most Popular Articles to Show
This is the number of popular KB articles that will appear on your helpdesk portal.
Outgoing Email
This is the 'From' email address that will be used in all email that Trellis Desk sends out.
Upload Directory
This is the full path to your TD 'uploads' directory. (Example: not http: //www.yourdomainhere.com/support/uploads, but /home/aaron/public_html/support/uploads)
Upload URL
The full URL to your TD 'uploads' directory. (Example: http: //www.yourdomainhere.com/support/uploads, not /home/aaron/public_html/support/uploads)
Allowed Upload Extensions
The filetypes that people are allowed to upload; separate them with a | (That's one of those line things, located under your keyboard's backspace key. What do you call those? Bars? Pipes? Silly line-like characters?)
Cookie Domain
This is the domain that Trellis Desk will use when setting cookies; use .yourdomainhere.com for global cookie goodness.
Cookie Prefix
This is a prefix that Trellis Desk will append to cookie names; handy when you're running multiple copies of TD. ( <lamejoke> We recommend 'chocolatechip' or 'sugar'. </ lamejoke> )
Cookie Path
The relative path to your Trellis Desk installation; this typically stays blank.
Hour Offset
If your server isn't properly set to GMT, enter an hour offset here (then go yell at your host).
Minute Offset
If your server isn't properly set to GMT, enter a minute offset here.
Show ACP Inline Help
If set to 'Yes', you'll find handy "Toggle information" links all around the ACP that can help you out when you're not sure what a particular setting does. You'd have to be dumb to turn this feature off.
Actually... no, that's wrong; you'd have to be really, really smart to turn this feature off.
Once you've finished messing up all of your settings, click "Update Settings".
