Thank you for choosing Trellis Desk by ACCORD5. With its easy-to-use Install Center, it's quite simple to get Trellis Desk up and running on your server.
System requirements
The Trellis Desk installation wizard will automatically check your server to see if it meets the system requirements. If it does not, an error message will be displayed during the installation wizard. The system requirements are as follows:
- PHP 4.3.0 or later
- MySQL 4.1 or later
- GD 2 with FreeType support (for security captchas)
Installation process
Step 1: Download and unpack
First, download the latest copy of Trellis Desk from its product page. Once you've downloaded the Trellis Desk .zip package, unzip it to a convenient location on your hard drive. You can unzip the package using the built-in Windows or Mac extraction functionality, or with products like 7-Zip or StuffIt Expander.
Step 2: Upload system files
Using your favorite FTP client, upload all of the files in the "upload" directory to a desired location on your web server, preserving the folder structure. This can be done using FTP clients like FileZilla or Cyberduck. View the instruction manual of your FTP client if you need more assistance with file transfers.
Step 3: Start the installation wizard
Point your browser to the location in which your uploaded Trellis Desk files are located (i.e. www.yourdomain.com/support). You should be automatically redirected to the "install" directory. If you are not automatically redirected, you need to manually point your browser to the "install" directory.
You will be greeted with the Install Center welcome screen, which will check to make sure that you are about to install the latest available version of Trellis Desk. Click on the "Let's Begin!" button to proceed with installation.
Step 4: Configure your system
On the next screen, the installer will ensure that your server meets the system requirements and verifies that your file permissions are set correctly. If all of the tests have successfully passed, click on the "Continue" button to proceed.
You will now be presented with two options to continue the installation process: Guided Mode and Advanced Mode. With Guided Mode, you will be walked through several steps to configure your system, create your administrator account, and setup your database; instructions will be provided along the way. Advanced Mode lets you enter all of your information in one step without any instruction, and is recommended for expert users. Select either "Advanced" or "Continue with Guided" to proceed, then enter any information you are prompted for.
And you're all set
Once you are finished, you will be brought to the Security Check screen where a yellow "Congratulations!" message will appear, signifying that the installation was successful. You should now CHMOD your config.php file to 0644 and delete the "install" directory. We hope you enjoy using Trellis Desk!
